Pre-registration is now closed

You may still come to the UoS and register Saturday morning. You may even order lunch!.

The 2009 University of Scouting will be held at Gadsden State Community College in Gadsden, Alabama.

Things to know:

  • 2009 University of Scouting, Gadsden State Community College, Saturday, March 7, 2009.
  • Registration begins at 7:30 A.M. at the Beck Field House (building 3). Please check this web site for updates. Come early to make schedule changes.
  • Please turn in any degree applications no later than 10:30 A.M. at the staff office. Degree applications are in the back of the Course Catalog. If you need a catalog you may download one from 2009 UoS Catalog.
  • Opening Ceremony begins at 9:00 A.M. Classes begin at 9:30 A.M. and end at 3:30 P.M. The Closing & Awards Ceremony is at 4:00 P.M. All of the participants who complete pre-registration and payment by the February 20 deadline will be eligible for fabulous prizes at the Closing Ceremony (randomly selected by computer).
  • UoS Scout Shop hours of operation are 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
  • You may select a lunch for only $5 when you pay your fee. This lunch is only available to online registrants. Walk-in participants should bring their own lunch or plan to eat out. The only on-site food available will be snacks. All meals come with either a soft drink or bottled water. The following lunches are available:
    1. Original Chick-Fil-A sandwich with a bag of chips and a single serving package of cookies
    2. Pork Barbeque sandwich with a bag of chips and a single serving package of cookies
    3. Salad with lettuce, carrots, peppers, red cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, onions, croutons, dressing and a single serving package of chips.
  • Special UoS T-shirts may be pre-ordered when you pay your fee. They must be pre-ordered because they are made before the event and will not be made on site. Click here for more information, including available sizes.
  • When you come to registration you will receive a packet containing a welcome letter from the Chancellor of the University of Scouting, your class schedule, maps, evaluation forms and other items. You will receive your event patch at closing when you turn in your evaluation forms (applies to students and staff).
  • Gadsden State Community College is located in Gadsden on George Wallace Drive near the terminus of I-759. Click here for a map. Click here for written driving directions. Look for signs directing you to parking.
  • A $5.00 surcharge will apply to those whose fee is received after February 20. Late registrants and all walk-in participants will pay $15.00 total. The purpose of the surcharge is to encourage pre-registration. Bring your receipt and a copy of your schedule to preclude any registration problems.

  • Staffers - Please note that the Staff Application is to be emailed or printed & mailed back to the address on the form. You still need to register here as well. If you are not taking classes then once you have entered your staff schedule you are finished and do not need to go pay. If you are taking classes then you need to go to the pay site and pay your $5.00.
